Christmas Cookies

I know you guys are probably getting tired of all of my Christmas posts and wonder why in the world I am not spitting out projects. The truth is, I took last week off to get my kids out of school and Christmas shopping wrapped up. I took this week off to enjoy my kids. I just decided I would take you guys along for the ride. I promise after Christmas there will be plenty of projects.I have a list a mile long!! In the meantime, today we got out one of my very favorite garage sale finds. This vintage cookie press was actually found by my 10 year old for 2 bucks. It has all the pieces AND in the original box. I couldn’t find a date on it but I assumed by the graphics it was made in the 50′s. We had so much fun with this today!

The recipe book has delicious looking cookies I cannot wait to try out! You can even make doughnuts with this! Dangerous! Seriously!!

Here is where I got my date marker that this was from the 50′s. Doesn’t this lady remind you of June Cleaver?

They were super easy to squeeze out and the tube was easy to operate. There are no plastic or flimsy parts like the things we use now. Why can’t everything still be this well made?

The elves decided it would be best to attempt some green dough. Both of my kids now look like they have some relation to the Grinch. Does anyone have a home remedy to remove food coloring from your skin?

The Christmas trees were a little crispy but here is what they looked like before the icing that we have yet to make. If they don’t get devoured before tomorrow, we may actually get to decorate them!

Now go put your paint brush and your sand paper down ladies and spend some time with your family. Christmas only happens once a year!

I found a set like this a few years ago and love it. I just made cheese straws with it a couple of days ago. You are so right about it being so much sturdier than what you find today.

I will be impressed if your cookies make it the icing stage, mine never do!That cookie press was a nice find. They surely don't make them like that anymore! Merry Christmas!

  9. Spritz cookies are an absolute Christmas favorite! My press bit the dust last year, so no spritz for us. :( And your pics are literally making my mouth water.
