My kids were looking for a last Hoorah deal this week before schools starts. My oldest had a friend over. They both have recently been bitten by the craft bug and like me, are looking for ways to make and sell their crafts. It’s in the blood I guess. I took AK and her friend to buy a t shirt at JoAnne’s Fabrics and Crafts. They had seen a spray painted T shirt on Pinterest that they wanted to try out. I was hesitant at first but I have to say, kudos to them, it was a great tween craft. They turned out SO cute.
They got the idea for a spray painted t shirt on Pinterest, GO FIGURE! They found a great source of inspiration in the blog, A Little Crafting. Look how cute the inspiration shirts are!
I set them up with all of my spray paint stash, put their shirts on cardboard, armed them with some 3M painters tape and let them go.
I had a DUH moment when they got done. I did not put card board in between their t shirts to keep them from bleeding onto the back. They didn’t care, they just decorated the back too, but if you are going to attempt this, make sure you learn from my mistake. This is a very cheap form of entertainment and it kept them off of social media, iPads, iPhones etc for hours. That’s a win in my book!
Have you ever tried spray painted t shirts? I would love to know how they turned out. I would also LOVE any fresh ideas for a tween craft. These girls are hard to please. *wink*
