BUDGET FRIENDLY FLOWER ARRANGING

A few weeks back, one of my affiliates, The Polka Dot Pantry, shared with their subscribers how to score loads of free Lay’s Stacks potato chips. You would not believe the deals they come up with. What makes them special? They focus only on the free and better than free deals and you don’t have to blog hop to get them all. It’s worth every penny of the 5.99 a month in hours spent compiling coupons and finding deals.  Monique asked me to come up with a project for this weeks newsletter using the empty stacks cans. I immediately had a vision of loveliness in my head. This is what it looked like……
 

 
 
You know, I love some burlap. It’s cheap, all the rage, and is full of beautiful texture.  This project was quick and easy. Anybody can do it!

 
I started with three empty cans.
I cut two of them down the same size, cutting right about where the flavor is on the label.
I love working in threes. Three is always better in any vignette. It is balanced and pleasing to the eye.

 

 
After I cut them down, I removed the labels. I made two different styles. One of them, as you can see below, I simply cute a 17 inch square of burlap and wrapped the largest can. I placed a line of glue down the can to hold it tight wrapped it, then sealed it again with another line of glue.

 
 
 
 
For some reason I forgot to take a picture of the bottom. All I did was wrap the bottom like the side of a present and glued it in place. Make sure you only have a little bit of fabric at the bottom or you won’t be able to stand it up straight.

 At the top of the can, I ran a line of glue around the inside lip of the can. I then rolled the burlap to the inside. I tied a bow with a simple twine around my tall vase, but you can use any ribbon according to your decor.

 

 

 For the small vase, I took the same 17 inch square and sat the vase directly in the center. I then gathered it with my hands and tied it at the top with twine. If it is too floppy for you at the top, you can do what I did and run a line of hot glue around the outside top to stand the burlap up.

 

 

 
You can even go a step further and reuse the lids for this can. I printed the Spring Junque Seals from House of 3 and made tags for my vases. It was only 2.00 for the printable seals and I can reuse them over and over for so many great projects.  
To punch the hole, use an icepick and a hammer.

 
 
I think these would be great for a ladies luncheon. How cute are they, sitting on this pretty plate as a gift and a place holder for your guests! And all for under a few dollars.

    You are one creative lady! I love the idea of the wrapped can in burlap, and I love even more, using the lids. I hate throwing things away if I think I can do a project with it. Too cute!
