A PIECE OF PILLOW ADVICE

I have been working on some pillows to go in my family room. I am still scouting out some fabric with a little color to go on the sofa. I love the neutrals but I need a little zing, hence the zebra:)

I fell in love with these zebra pillow that are linen and have hidden zippers. I found them here in Birmingham at Tuesday Morning on Highway 280. They were a great deal at 19.99 a piece but they lacked a down insert. They were super easy to replace and turned a 20.00 pillow into a 100.00 pillow.

This is short and to the point but a valuable tip! When buying down inserts for your pillows, ALWAYS buy up at least one size. They are fuller and have a richer feel. Believe it or not I was able to go up two sizes in these 20″ pillows. I inserted 24 inch down pillows in my 20 inch pillow. They were a little harder to slip in but once I got them zipped and fluffed they were perfect.

I did finish the floor in the bathroom but not quite in time to photo shoot. Be looking for it this week!

Don’t forget about the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint giveaway! You can find it here! 200.00 worth of products from Faux Studio Designs would make your Christmas just a little merrier!

  3. Hi Kelli – Love the zebra pillows. Where did you find your down inserts locally and were they a good price? I have a sofa with 4 pillows that do not have zippers, however, I am considering having a seamstress open them and insert down pillows. What do you think? Please email me at pray4440@charter.net.
