My sweet friend Kennesha over at Restoration House Interiors, used my video tutorial on how to achieve a faux zinc table top. I am so glad someone else tried it out, I have been dying to know if the instructions were clear. I think every table will be different, but you still will achieve the metal effect. Kennesha’s table top wasn’t as “tight” as zinc I guess should be, but it ended up looking like galvanized metal which is extremely close and very cool. The paint moves in different ways with the water making each piece like an original piece of art. No top is exactly alike. Thank you Kennesha for trying this and for reporting your results! It looks amazing and I can’t wait to see the rest!

  1. That looks really cool! When I actually have furniture in my house I will give this a try!

  2. Please tell me how to view the video on Faux Zinc finish. I found it on your site but needed some more detail and now I can’t open it again. I see pictures but not the video. I love this finish

  3. Love your tutorial!! I tried it and it totally worked! I’m so happy with the results–turned out just like zinc!! I had an old pine bookshelf that my dad had made for me when I was a little girl. Love the bookshelf but hated the fake wood laminate that was on top. I always covered it with a runner or scarf to hide it. Now I’m throwing away the runner. Thank you so much!!!
