STOCKPILING FOR MY NEW SPACE

I am officially taking the plunge. I am so excited to be a part of Urban Green that I can’t stop smiling. I know this is a blessing from God and I am going to step out in faith and take it on. Am I scared? Absolutely. But Fear is Satan’s tool to keep you from being who God wants you to be, and I am more than a conqueror, Amen? I have been busy looking for things to make over. Yesterday, the good Lord lead me to an Antique Mall that I frequent often. I am not sure I have EVER come out with anything in the 3 years I have been going in there except for a belly full of their delicious southern fried fish, turnip greens, mashed potatoes and cornbread muffins. YUM. But yesterday God new what I needed. I stumbled upon a booth that was going out of business, 75% off!! I bought 3 tables, one chair, one GIANT and awesome lamp, some vintage picture frames, another lamp shade, a fabulous bark cloth table cloth in dreamy creams, grays and blues, a vintage mirror, a covered dish, 3 old books, two kids books….deep breath……AND 3 old glass bottles for the grand total of  83.00. I was ecstatic. The day before, I got an unbelievable round drum table for 8.00 another chair for 10 and a long console table for 15.00. YES my friends, I will be painting and sanding and glazing my little heart out this week. I want to try and move some things in by next Sunday when they are closed.

I have vision for all of these pieces and I can’t wait to show you what they look like when I am finished!

The lighting in my house is terrible. I have a husband and a dad in the lighting business….go figure… The natural light is also a very big negative. I don’t really have a staging area and I am still working on trying to figure out where the best place in the house is to get good photos. I can’t even show you how bad the night photos turned out, SO….this is just a little sneak peak at what I accomplished today. And can I say….it looks fabulous!

I just wanted to give you guys a heads up that over the next few days, Alabama is quite possibly going to get hit with a snow storm. Imagine that. And yes we Alabamians are totally foreign to that fluffy white stuff and it scares us to death. SO we cancel school and close roads and stores. We pretty much shut the place down over a few inches. Thank GOD I have my milk and bread. ( not really sure why that’s the necessity, BUT I have it) My husband works a lot with Alabama Power and they are expecting a lot of power outage for anywhere from 2-5 days. I am up on a mountain and it usually takes longer for us to thaw out. SO, with that being said, if you don’t here from me for a few days, it’s not because I don’t love you or want to share my life story with you….it’s just because I have no power and I am mopping up snow water on the hardwoods and thawing out the children’s appendages.

  15. Good for you for taking that leap of faith & wishing you much success. We too are expecting snow……granddaughter asked me if the schools will be closed tomorrow. Hum, think she wants to play! The white fluffy stuff is pretty only when it is falling & I am safely in my home, lol. Looking forward to your project reveals!

  17. What a haul you got, can't wait to see what you do with everything.

Here in Montgomery we are getting ready for the worse if it comes. Hopefully it won't be as bad as predicted. Hubby just left to go get more firewood then we'll be going to the grocery store. Please Lord don't let the power go out.

My son and his wife live in Eagle Point and the streets in that area are so hilly, I'm so worried about them. Son drives a Hummer so he'll probably be okay IF he has to go out but still…

Stay safe and warm and "see" you when our bad weather passes!
