MYSTERY ITEM TURNED BUSINESS CARD HOLDER

My mom brought me a little happy present yesterday and I had NO idea what it was. She handed me this sharp, old, rusty looking thing and I fell in love with it before I even discovered its original purpose. I thought I knew a lot about old things but this one stumped me. What was it? A miniature bed of nails? Antique acupuncture tool? Military grade torturing device? I mean come on! This thing is sharp! What was it you ask? A vintage flower frog! Seriously? I cannot believe I didn’t know this…..

I have a feeling this is going to be my newest obsession on my thrifting excursions.
Look at this thing! Isn’t it cute?

I am using it for my business cards………………………

and it can be a used as a new way to display photos……….

Have you seen these used in any other way? If you have, I want to hear about it!

  15. I, too, collect frogs. I bet it could be used as a felting tool, though the "prongs" are pretty thick. I find them (SPOILER!!) by reaching inside old containers I think could have held flowers. They are addictive to collect. The info imprinted on the bottoms is cool, too.

  17. Does anyone else collect Lady Head Vases? I kind of got saturated with them, and haven't bought one in about ten years.
