I did absolutely nothing fun this weekend to blog about and to tell you the truth, I am totally frustrated with my camera. On top of having to figure it all out, my SD card decided to give out on me this weekend…hence the no blogging. I finally found one in a drawer that would hold a few pictures but I must head out tomorrow to fork out the money for a new one. You know, those are the things that just STINK to have to spend money on…….no fun at all.
One of those “nothing fun” things that I did this weekend was clean out my entire attic. I cannot believe the junk I found up there that I hung on to. I found a whole box of maternity clothes that I wore with my first child and was also about 75 pounds heavier. Not only were they hideously ugly and out of style but they would have never fit me anyway, even if I had needed them. I found a box of shoes that I had put up there from like 2001, a few sleeping bags, some baby dolls that had melted, ( FYI, storing plastic in a southern attic is probably not a good idea) and my 11 year olds Christening gown that I thought I had lost forever. Thankfully there was only one small stain on it and I think the dry cleaners will be able to get it out. Most everything up there was clothes but it was nice to get it cleaned out and we had fun reminiscing as we combed through all of the things my oldest wore as a toddler. It took 2 trips to goodwill in the van to get rid of it all. Now, no one needs to call hoarders…..it’s under control -Until you see my basement- ….that will be a whole other story.
Another great accomplishment was cleaning out my black cabinet. It had gotten so cluttered up with things that I kept stashing in there for the store or for photo shoots that I couldn’t find anything in it!
Of course ,I squeezed in some Saturday morning garage sales. I found two great pieces that I will be painting and a great ironstone platter for my collection for only five bucks. The ironstone platter was five bucks….not the furniture. Sheesh. I need to go back to school and re take all of my writing classes!
Won’t this piece look amazing painted? I actually love it’s dark wood but the top is in really bad shape as well as it’s legs. I’m going to sit on this one for a while until I figure out exactly what I want to do to her. I need a vision because she is special. The drawers are so deep and the they are super clean. I want to keep her so I am looking for just the right spot.
