I’ve been doing a whole lot of thinking, and praying about 2013. It looks different, it feels different. Our family is being stirred by the Holy Spirit, and pushed out of our comfort zone for what is ahead. Only God knows what that is, but I am sure it is marvelous.

I didn’t lay out new years resolutions, I am a big fat failure at those. Instead, I wrote down goals to be accomplished in small steps. As I was praying about these goals, the Lord reminded me of the Proverbs 31 Woman. Now, let’s be honest, who can really be her. I know a few people who come close, but realistically it seems absolutely impossible. I mean come on, the lady runs on zero sleep and seems to find more hours in a day than are actually there. She does however, lay out some great examples of what a virtuous woman is. I found three things from this passage that I want to be the focus of this year, HOME, BODY & SPIRIT. I am so passionate about these three things that I even put them in my header.

Test header 2

1. HOME – A Virtuous Woman is a homemaker. She creates an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love for her family and guests. She uses hospitality to minister to those around her. (Proverbs 31: 15, Proverbs 31: 20 – 22, Proverbs 31: 27, Titus 2: 5, 1 Peter 4: 9, Hebrews 13: 2)
The reason I started this business in the first place was to make money so that I could create a beautiful and inviting home for my family. In this business, it is easy to stray from that. This year I want to concentrate on finishing my house whether we stay here or not and LEAVING it that way. HA! We will see about that, I am the queen of musical furniture. There is a lot involved in this category so I won’t bore you with the details, but just know, I will still be painting and decorating, and sharing it here.

2. BODY – A Virtuous Woman cares for her body. She prepares healthy food for her family. (Proverbs 31: 14 – 15, Proverbs 31: 17, 1 Corinthians 6: 19, Genesis 1: 29, Daniel 1, Leviticus 11) Oh boy, this is a tough one. This one is not only for me, but for my entire family. We all over indulged during the holiday and I am ready to get back to healthy eating. I shared with you in my last post about the clean eating plan I found from Emeals. You can see that here. I have already prepared several meals from this weeks recipes and they were delicious! They have many other plans to choose from as well. Part of my problem in cooking healthy is the time it takes to come up with the recipes and the ingredients. Emeals does all the work for me so I never have to be without something to cook. I won’t stick to this like glue because I like to use ingredients I have left over to avoid waste but I like knowing there is always something there for me to cook. This category for me not only holds healthy eating, but exercise as well, UGH. My least favorite. What’s funny is that I was an athlete growing up. I played every sport possible, was in pristine shape and loved it. Oh, to get back to that!!

3. SPIRIT – A Virtuous Woman serves God with all of her heart, mind, and soul. She seeks His will for her life and follows His ways. (Proverbs 31: 26, Proverbs 31: 29 – 31, Matthew 22: 37, John 14: 15, Psalm 119: 15) This one is pretty self explanatory. I want to know my creator in 2013 better than I knew him in 2012. My relationship with the Lord makes me a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend.

I’m sharing these with you because this is what I will be writing about a lot this year AND you help to keep me accountable! Thank you all so much for your friendship and encouragement. I love you all so much and pray for you daily. Happy New Year! I hope this is your best year yet!
