This weekend we had the pleasure of visiting 4 of my Aunts and lots of cousins in Valley, Alabama. They live really close to Callaway Gardens in Georgia so we decided to pop on over and experience their Fantasy in Lights show. Y’all, all I can say is WOW. If you live anywhere near here, it is worth the drive and the money. They had over 8 million lights in 6 miles of amazingly lit scenery. Both of my kids had a fantastic time. I will say, if you do go, make sure you get advanced tickets.
The crowd was insane and we had to buy our tickets and wait 4HOURS to be able to drive through! It was worth it though! We went back to our hotel and hung out, changed into jammies and then went at 10:00. It was so good my 3 year old even stayed awake.
Today, most of the cute little shops were closed but we were able to visit a few. And OH my goodness. The Arctic air has hit the South. It was FREEZING when we woke up. Cold like this goes straight to my bones! My Southern blood is not used to 19 degrees.
I didn’tbuy a thing, but I did find this rocking chair. I was so excited to be able to take a picture of it because I bought this very same rocker for 3.00 at a yard sale. I have already put a coat of paint on it and forgot to take a before picture! Now I have one! I am hoping to get it finished up to take to the shop before Christmas. Why is this picture so grainy?? I have no idea!

In one of the general stores I found this great basket filled with birch and glitter bird clips. Birds…right up my alley! I did snag one of these! Aren’t they pretty?
Next year I will have to remember to visit all of these places on Saturday when they are open! It is a TOTAL bummer to have to look in the window of a good antique mall….Ugh… However, it was a great trip. I love being able to get away for a day or two to forget about all that needs to be done at home. It’s nice to be able to give your brain a break!

The lights are phenomenal. The whole scenario looks like something out of a storybook….How fun.
