NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION

Necessity is definitely the mother of invention. I have been selling burlap bows out of this garland I found for 5.00 at Michaels back at the beginning of November. I should have gotten all that they had but I didn’t DREAM that everyone else would want it too! I can’t find anymore anywhere! As fast as I can put them in the shop they are gone. SO…what is a girl to do? I had someone ask me for chocolate burlap bows. I know people do this all the time but apparently I just got the memo to use burlap by the yard! DUH! I cut it in 5 yard strips then cut that in half and made these adorable bows. I actually like these better than the ones I made out of Garland.

I really needed to make more pillows tonight too, but I think the pillow in my bed is calling me REALLY loud….

I had to get a new printer this week…mine finally died along with my computer. When I got my new computer, they gave me a great deal on this Cannon. I LOVE it and it prints on fabric really well.

These are some of the things I printed last night. If you have not read my tutorial on how to do this you can find it here.

I can’t wait to put the Christmas Polka graphic on a pillow! Isn’t it great?
AND I have been doing A LOT of sewing lately so I thought I would share a picture of my baby. She and I have been through a lot together. I use a Pacesetter from Brother. It’s the ULT 2001 Disney edition. I wish I had a sewing room for her to sit proudly. Poor girl gets the floor of my closet when she’s not on the kitchen table. She’s a good one!

I am calling it a night…..

Blessings,

Kelli

  5. Cassie, I got a Toshiba L675 at Best Buy the day after Thanksgiving. I made sure to get one that could hold a lot of pictures and my photo software. It's 4G and 500MB. The guy told me that they are all basically the same intenally.(the different brands) They were offering a wireless Cannon for 49.99 that normally sells for 149.99. It's an all in one. HOWEVER…I did see that they must have had overstock because they have this same printer on sale for I think 69.99. lt's a Cannon Pixima MP360. I like it because the fabric slides in from the top and it makes it easier for the printer to feed it through. Hope this helps:)

  7. Those bows look beautiful, congratulations on your success! I've been wanting to try printing on fabric instead of using the transfer method. Can you run burlap (my beloved)LOL through the printer?

  9. I made a pillow out of the same piece of French sheet music after I read your tutorial here on this blog. I made a few others as well (posted pics on my blog if anyone wants to see). I've had requests on how to do it and sent them along to your blog. Thanks for posting!!
